Professor Michael Sharpe, Lead for the NIHR CLAHRC Oxford's Better Management of Medical-Psychiatric Comorbidity Theme, has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award by the UK Royal College of Psychiatrists.

ProfMSharpeProfessor Sharpe has been shortlisted for the award of Psychiatrist of the Year in recognition of his research into the care of patients with cancer and depression, medically unexplained symptoms and chronic fatigue syndrome and also for his leadership of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust Psychological Medicine clinical service. This innovative clinical service, which is linked to the Oxford CLAHRC, provides psychiatric and psychological care to patients of the Acute Trust and has also been shortlisted for a Royal College award for providing patient-centred integrated care.
